Official rules and regulations for the NGUA World Cup

Official Rules & Regulations

General Rules

  • Upon joining the server, you must determine whether you want to be a player or owner.
  • Teams are only allowed to have a maximum of 10 people on their roster.

Court/Jersey/Logo Design

  • Home jerseys must be predominantly white or light gray.
  • Away jerseys can be any color except white or light gray.
  • Every team court must have a NGU logo on it. You can find it by searching "WorldCup2K" on PS5 (XBOX Series coming soon) on the current NBA 2K.
  • Admin Team reserves the right to request alterations to your court for any reason including, but not limited to, improper logos, obscenities, or any other unnamed reason resulting in a lack of aesthetic appeal.
  • Failure to comply will result in fines, removal, or suspension from NGU Leagues.

Grace Period

  • There will be a STRICT 10-minute grace period.
  • The Grace Period begins when one team has all five players on the court and the stream is loaded up.
  • Every 10 minutes, the team with 5 in the gym and has a stream up will be able to claim a forfeit win.
  • After 20 minutes, if the team decides to take both games forfeits, you will be eliminated from the bracket.
  • A team cannot type and say "Our five was in." If you do not follow these rules down to the wire, it will not be accepted.
  • Once the series has started, the time limit in between games is 10 minutes.

Match Resolution and Disconnection Protocols

1. Intentional vs. Unintentional Disconnections

  • Intentional Disconnection: Deliberately closing the game or terminating connection to avoid a loss
  • Unintentional Disconnection: Connection loss due to technical issues

2. Disconnection Before 2nd Quarter

  • If a disconnection occurs before the 1st quarter ends, the match will be replayed in full
  • Both teams must use the exact same lineups as the original match
  • No substitutions or lineup changes permitted

3. Disconnection After 1st Quarter

  • If a disconnection occurs after the 1st quarter, the match will be resumed by simulating the same quarter, time, and score at the moment of disconnection. (Playing with a point spread)
  • A neutral admin will oversee the simulation to ensure fairness.
  • Both teams must use the same lineups as the original match.

4. Proof and Documentation

  • Players must provide immediate evidence of disconnection
  • Acceptable forms of evidence:
    • Screenshot of network error
    • Console/PC system logs
    • Stream/recording of the disconnection moment
  • Evidence must be submitted within 10 minutes of the disconnection.

5. Repeated Disconnection Penalties

  • First offense: Warning
  • Second offense: Potential suspension and disciplinary review

Match Dispute Resolution

1. Dispute Submission Process

Disputes must be filed in writing within 48 hours of match completion

Must include:

  • Detailed description of the issue
  • Supporting evidence
  • Specific rule or regulation allegedly violated

2. Dispute Review

Reviewed by a three-person panel:

  • League commissioner
  • Two neutral team owners

Panel will:

  • Review all submitted evidence
  • Interview involved parties if necessary
  • Render a decision within 72 hours of dispute filing

3. Grounds for Dispute

Valid dispute reasons include:

  • Proven cheating
  • Unauthorized player substitution
  • Violation of roster rules
  • Technical exploits
  • Significant rule infractions

4. Dispute Outcomes

Potential resolutions include:

  • Match replay
  • Match forfeit
  • Individual player sanctions
  • Team Penalties

5. Appeal Process

  • Two appeals allowed per dispute (one from each side)
  • Must be filed within 24 hours of initial ruling
  • Appealed to a higher-level review board
  • Appeal decision is final and binding

Cheating Prohibitions

  • The use of a ZEN, Titan, and any other 3rd party software is strictly prohibited. The use of this will result in a permanent ban.
  • Lag Switching is not allowed under ANY circumstances. This is a very serious offense and will result in permanent bans, and a notice to all league owners across Discord warning them of your actions.
  • Macros are not allowed. The use of this is a violation of our rules and will result in fines.
  • Animation abuse is not allowed. If any admin determines that a certain animation can be abused, a notice will be sent out. This will be your only warning. If someone is caught using the animation, consequences will be issued.
  • Sharing accounts to circumvent competitive restrictions is prohibited. If caught, the user on the account and the account owner will be subject to consequences depending on the context of the situation.

Code of Conduct

Player Conduct

  • Respectful behavior is required in all league communications.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Stream and social media behavior monitored.

Team Owner Conduct

  • Mandatory owner communication channels.
  • Dedicated owner forum for inter-team communication.
  • Strict confidentiality requirements.

Disciplinary Actions

Violation Levels

  • Minor Infractions: Written warning.
  • Moderate Infractions: Fines, temporary suspension.
  • Major Infractions: Season-long suspension, potential permanent league ban.

Appealing Disciplinary Decisions

  • A written appeal must be submitted within 7 days.
  • Appeal will be heard by an independent review board.
  • Board composition:
    • League commissioner.
    • Two neutral team representatives.

Communication Guidelines

Official Communication Channels

  • Mandatory use of league-provided communication platforms.
  • All official communications must be documented.
  • Private message logs can be requested for review. Failure to provide these logs can result in consequences.

Team Owner Communication Protocol

  • Dedicated, private communication channels.
  • Transparency and mutual respect required.

Dispute Resolution

  • The League commissioner has final arbitration power.
  • All disputes must be submitted in writing.
  • Decisions are final and binding.
